CV-16, the USS Lexington is now on permanent display in Corpus Christi. Commissioned in 1943, she was the oldest working aircraft carrier when she was decommissioned in 1991.  Designated CVT-16, the USS Lexington was the training aircraft carrier where thousands of Naval Aviators completed their Carrier Qualifications.
